The InterContinental Geneva tower in Petit-Saconnex, near the Nations district

The verdict

The InterContinental is the palace of business and diplomacy, a short walk from the Palais des Nations. Its tower opened in 1964 and has hosted delegations and summits, in a district that lives to the rhythm of international organisations.

Its Google rating of 4.6 from more than 2,600 reviews is solid, and its position makes it the most logical palace for a week at Palexpo.

Location

Palexpo and the airport are about ten minutes away by car or bus, the centre and the lake about twenty minutes by tram. The area is green, quiet, and very empty after office hours.

The price we found for the fair's public weekend was more than double the late-November one.

Our advice

If you spend your days at the watch fair, it is the best palace. For a sightseeing weekend, prefer an address on the harbour, livelier in the evening.
