Watches and Wonders 2027 in Geneva: dates, tickets, venues and what the public can see

One week a year, Geneva becomes the world capital of watches. Watches and Wonders brings together the great houses, the independents, thousands of retailers and journalists at Palexpo, then opens its doors to the public for a few days. The 2027 edition runs from 5 to 11 April 2027.

Six months before the fair, some of the practical information has not yet been published. This page separates what the organiser has confirmed, what comes from other sources, and what can be expected based on the 2026 edition. It is updated with every announcement.

What is confirmed for 2027?

The most likely split, consistent with 2026, reserves the start of the week for professionals until 8 April 2027, then opens the fair to the public from Friday to Sunday. Another announcement mentions 75 brands in total: we are waiting for the official list before repeating it.

How much does a ticket cost?

The 2027 price has not been published, and we will not make it up. Here is the official 2026 price list, useful for budgeting:

2026 adult ticketPrice
Saturday or Sunday70 CHF
Monday50 CHF
Weekend120 CHF
Three days160 CHF
Saturday or Sunday, reduced rate40 CHF

In 2026, tickets were sold exclusively online, until noon on the day of the visit at the latest, with no on-site sales. The reduced-rate categories (students and seniors according to one specialist source) were not detailed on the official page: check them during the purchase process.

The ticket also works as a transport ticket: in 2026 it was valid in zone 10, second class, on the day shown, from two hours before opening to two hours after closing. Never buy a resold ticket: entries are linked to a digital badge and an ID document checked at the entrance.

What do you really see with a public ticket?

The halls and the stands of the exhibiting houses, the year's new models side by side, craft demonstrations and themed areas. It is the only chance to compare in a single day the finishes and the messaging of so many brands, which makes the ticket worthwhile for an enthusiast.

What the ticket does not give you: retailers' business meetings, private presentations, watch try-ons and brand evenings, which are by invitation. In 2026, the product presentations, guided tours and brand activities open to the public sold out very quickly, some even before the opening.

So the rule is to book these activities as soon as the slots open, at the same time as the ticket. Coming without a booking means seeing the stand displays, which is already a lot, but not everything.

Which day should you come, and at what time?

In 2026, the fair was open to the public from 8:30am to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday, and from 8:30am to 5pm on Monday, last entry thirty minutes before closing. The 2027 hours have not been published.

The organiser releases no attendance curve. Our reading on the ground: Saturday and Sunday concentrate leisure visitors, and the afternoon is harder going in the aisles. Come at opening time, allow four hours at least and six to seven to properly compare the houses.

The first public day, Friday in 2027, is likely to be busy too. If you only have one day, choose the one for which you have secured the activity slots that interest you.

What is there to do in town during the fair?

The "In the City" programme brings part of the fair into central Geneva: exhibitions, workshops, talks and meetings in shops and public spaces. In 2026 it drew more than 10,000 participants, and the organiser announces an extended programme over the seven days of 2027.

Be careful with the word "free". Many activities are, but limited-capacity formats require registration, and brand evenings remain private. A free activity is not an activity you can access without booking.

It is also the best option for companions who have no interest in the fair: Rue du Rhône, the Patek Philippe Museum and the collections of the Musée d'art et d'histoire make a watchmaking day with no Palexpo ticket, detailed in our guide to watchmaking in Geneva.

During Watches and Wonders, 5 to 11 April 2027, a guided city tour or a half-day excursion offers a breather between two days at the fair. Our partner's Geneva page brings together the activities available on those dates.

How do you get to Palexpo?

Palexpo is in Grand-Saconnex, right next to the airport, about 4 km from Cornavin station. In 2026 the organiser listed buses 5, 50 and 59 to the Grand-Saconnex, Palexpo stop, and the train links Cornavin to the airport in 6 to 7 minutes.

Free shuttles linked Palexpo, the airport and partner hotels. The published times differ from one document to another: from 8am to 8pm for the airport to Palexpo link, until 11pm for the hotel service according to another document. Frequencies ranged from a bus every 10 minutes on weekdays to every 20 to 30 minutes at weekends.

Do not go by car: no free parking is provided for the fair. If you are driving from far away, leave the car at a park and ride in the north of the city. The other options are in getting around Geneva and from the airport to the city centre.

Where should you stay during fair week?

This is the real difficulty. For the 2026 edition, the organiser reported nearly 50,000 room nights booked before opening, for around 60,000 visitors. Exhibitors and retailers take rooms for the whole week, well before the public days.

Public ticket holders have access to preferential rates at partner hotels, with payment at booking and free changes up to seven days before arrival (2026 conditions). The month-by-month booking timeline, the districts to aim for and the fallback options are in where to stay in Geneva during Watches and Wonders.

The fair in figures

Two words of caution. "Unique visitors" cover the whole week, professionals included, while public tickets only concern the three days open to all: sixty thousand people are never present on the same day. And these are the organiser's figures, with no independent audit.

One figure also circulates for 2025: 55,000 visitors, according to a summary table from the organiser. No source, however, publishes quantified economic benefits for Geneva.

Where does this fair come from?

Watches and Wonders is the heir to the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, the SIHH, long reserved for professionals. Its distinctive feature is to bring together historic houses, independents, large groups, retailers and media under one roof, then open to the public.

It should not be confused with Baselworld, the former general watch and jewellery fair, nor with the private presentations some brands hold elsewhere. The 2027 edition spans a full week, Monday to Sunday, and that is the main announced novelty, along with the arrival of the thirteen brands.

How much does a day at the fair cost?

Count the ticket (in 2026, 70 CHF on Saturday or Sunday), a meal on site where you should expect to queue, and that is it for transport, included in the ticket on the day of the visit. The real expense is the room, which can double compared with an ordinary week.

The rest of the stay can cost very little: free municipal museums, the harbour, the Old Town, and the hotel's Geneva Transport Card for getting around. To plan the days around the fair, see things to do in Geneva and, for half a day in the open air, the Salève.

Still unknown

  • The 2027 ticket prices and the exact reduced-rate categories.
  • The 2027 opening hours, day by day.
  • Confirmation of the public days on the official ticket office, currently relayed by Geneva Tourism and specialist sources.
  • The full list of 2027 brands, of which only a few new ones are named.
  • The 2027 shuttle and transport arrangements.

We update this page as soon as the organiser publishes these details. To plan your trip, how to get to Geneva compares train, plane and car, and when to go to Geneva places April in the year.

Palexpo on foot, or nearly: hotels at the airport and in Grand-Saconnex are the closest to the fair. During the April week, they go as fast as those in the centre.
