Saint-Pierre Cathedral: the visitor listing
At the top of the Old Town, Calvin's cathedral can be visited freely, its towers and archaeological site with a ticket. Everything you need to plan the visit, on one page.

Why go?
Saint-Pierre is the monument every visitor climbs, literally: the cathedral crowns the Old Town hill. Calvin preached here, and his chair is still in the nave.
With 4.6 from nearly 10,000 Google reviews, it is one of the best-rated places in the city, especially for the view from the towers.
Good to know
The nave is free. The towers cost 7 CHF and must be earned: you climb 157 steps for the panorama over the lake and the Alps. The archaeological site beneath the cathedral costs 8 CHF, and a combined ticket exists.
Our advice
Climb the towers early in the morning, before the groups, then go down to the archaeological site. All the details, from the combined ticket to wheelchair access, are in our full guide to the cathedral.

Mathieu Jaquet
Mathieu guided groups through the Old Town for seven years, from St. Pierre Cathedral to the Bastions. He builds his routes on foot, stopwatch in hand, and cuts whatever does not fit into a real day. He would rather write that a visit is not worth the ticket than pad out a list.
